Total War Battles: KINGDOM is a management strategy game that has successfully ported a great deal of the overall experience from the full version of Total War and loaded it onto your Android smartphone. Now you get to build and manage an entire medieval empire and lead it onwards to victory making your way through the depths of a rather hostile world packed with factions and rivalling warlords to squash in epic battles.
The game system behind Total War Battles: KINGDOM is relatively complex. But thankfully, this title comes with a well-developed tutorial to help you get started. Players begin each battle with a single castle. Little by little, you get to construct your own farms, quarries, houses, guard stations, mills, churches and many other kinds of buildings. Each type of building comes with a series of strategic advantages that you'll need to plan out intelligently in order to be successful. Quarries, for example, allow you to extract nearby mineral ore. And, obviously, guard stations are a basic necessity when it comes to building up your militia and troops. Choose wisely.
Just as might be expected from any title within the Total War saga, battles take place in real-time and are; simply put -- breathtaking. Before you get started, you'll position your units to maintain and inflict maximum damage as efficiently as possible. Once the battle begins, you'll also get to intervene subtly by timing the exact moment to charge up and unleash special attacks onto your enemies. Learning to wield your skills wisely is crucial when it comes to winning the hardest battles within this campaign.
Total War Battles: KINGDOM is an excellent strategy game. While it doesn't offer exactly the full, in-depth experience of the Total War franchise, it does provide a fun and well-adapted game for mobile devices. Plus, it comes with some very noteworthy graphics. The visual design made to view a huge number of troops and units on a single screen simultaneously is totally spot-on.
